A little bird I am.
Flying in this big unfriendly world,
In search of a place to call home.
Thru the rain and storms,
Thru scorching sun,
Thru nights without moon.
The long journey wounded my being.
Feebly flapping my wings,
I sought for a place
To rest,
To heal the restless soul,
To restore the courage.
My eyes wander,
Wishing upon a chance
Of a small crevice among the rocks,
Or perhaps an abandoned nest,
Just a safe place to revive.
A pause I need before resume the quest.
Then you found me,
Caught me when I was at my weakest state.
You wrapped me in your arms,
Medicated my wounds,
Treated the bleeding wings of mine.
Then you built me home.
A shelter
From unfriendly world,
From the warmth from the rain.
A cozy nest to lay my head.
A healing place of my broken soul.
Drowned in the love showered,
You became my home.
I ceased my journey.
Filled the nest with hope,
Painted the walls with trust,
Decorated the rooms with compassion.
But,
One day I woke up,
Cold and shuddered,
With broken wings,
In the middle of the ruined nest.
In the middle of scattered dreams.
You were nowhere to find.
You left me homeless.
Treated my wounds to break my bones,
Wrapped me in warmth to drown me in icy cold lake,
Guided my lost soul to the darkness of pain.
You said you would stay,
You promised to protect me,
But you left.
I shouldn’t have believed.
I shouldn’t have stayed.
Now
I’m lost.
In pain.
Unable to fly.
